Hey there, I'm Sam!

If I could go back in time and photograph anything it would definitely be that scene in Stormy Weather where The Nicholas Brothers dance with Cab Calloway.
I am a closet romantic, a glutton for sad songs, and hope I can be as cool as Florence Welch or Joan Jett in my next life.
I've been a photographer going on 16 years. It started with 35mm in a high school darkroom, turned into Super 8 in a film lab, and became digital somewhere in between. As a jazz scat man once told me, we're always in progress.
Whether shooting shows, portraits, or weddings, collaboration has always been my favorite way to work. When not shooting my own projects across the Northeast I'll typically be drinking tea or working with City Headshots in Manhattan.
Over the years I have been fortunate enough to shoot with companies like Facebook, American Express, National Geographic, and have work published in Billboard Magazine and Chief Learning Officer. Doing a rough tally, I've met and worked with over 5,000 people by now (madness!), trying to remember everyone's name along the way.
So I'd love to hear from you, let's make something great together!
Kind Words
"If you have ever dreamed gracing the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine because you truly believe you look like, act like, walk and talk like a rockstar ... then be sure to hire Samatha for your cover shoot because that is how she makes you feel when working with her. The warmth, connection and caring she exudes while photographing you extracts your most beautiful parts, parts that perhaps, you have never seen before. It is such a cool experience to have Sam capture the very essence of your soul through the lens of her camera."
